Originally formed in 1986, the Point at Cape Rosier Association (PCRA) is located at the end of the Cape Rosier Peninsula. We are a covenant protected, residential development with five covenants that exist in perpetuity. These permanent covenants guarantee access to our two private roads (Ames Cove and the Point Roads) and to our common land (Ames Cove), provide for road maintenance by PCRA, spell out protection for the coastal buffer zone and prohibit further subdivision of the original plots.
In addition, our covenants and by-laws provide guidance and safeguards to protect the value and beauty of our properties. Covenants restrict the number and height of structures on properties, set out guidelines for forest management, and spell out various good neighbor policies that enhance the scenic and natural beauty of the development.
The Point at Cape Rosier is administered by members of the association who serve on a volunteer board. Over the years, most property owners have volunteered on a rotating basis to serve as president, treasurer, clerk or member-at-large for a 12-month term. An annual meeting in August provides the opportunity for all lot owners to approve a slate of board candidates and a yearly budget, as well as discuss matters of common interest. An evening potluck at a member's home is usually held on the same day as the annual meeting.
